AARON KIPNIS, PhD & ELIZABETH HERRON, MA


As co-directors of the Gender Relations Institute, Dr. Aaron Kipnis and Elizabeth Herron have brought together thousands of men and women in safe, healing environments for the purpose of exploring and reconciling gender-related issues. Judicious, personable, and refreshingly humorous, Kipnis and Herron use their extensive research regarding the historical development of men and women as the basis for assessing gender conditioning, role expectations, common conflicts, and fundamental differences. The objective of their comprehensive study and involvement is to promote individual growth, strengthen methods of communication, and facilitate a mutual respect for gender-based perspective, ambition, and feeling.

TRAINER & FACILITATORS: Single or combined gender clinical training programs and conferences related to the gender-specific issues and needs of men and women (since 1980); offer guidance, direction, and models for individuals recovering from addictions and victimization; specialize in stress management, empowerment skills, health and spirituality, gender diplomacy, and sexuality and relationships.

EDUCATORS & AUTHORS: Present workshops on: communication styles of men and women;insight into gender identity and culture; contemporary concerns such as sexual harassment; and understanding and creating equal partnerships and good will between men and women.

Authors of numerous articles; co-authors of Gender War, Gender Peace: The Art of Partnership Between Men and Women, William Morrow & Co., 1993; Dr. Aaron Kipnis wrote Knights Without Armor: A Practical Guide for Men in Quest of a Masculine Soul, Jeremy Tarcher, 1991, and Putnam, 1992.

ADVISORS & CONSULTANTS: Frequent guest experts for national radio and television talk shows; consult with and develop models for organizations seeking to improve communication and cooperation between men and women.
